Layout

The handpan layout follows the traditional top-down arrangement:

       TF8    TF1
    TF7          TF2
       [DING]
    TF6          TF3
       TF5    TF4

The Ding is the central note at the top of the instrument. Tone fields are arranged in alternating left-right pattern around the rim.

Unmapped Notes

When a MIDI note doesn't correspond to a tone field in the current scale, Orbiter offers two behaviours:

• Remap (default): The note is remapped to the nearest tone field in the scale
• Silence: The note is ignored
